Description:

This sauce boat apparently shows a different view of Catholic Church (listed in this exhibit) and it is by a different maker.  If so, then this is the old St. Patrick's Cathedral, the second Roman Catholic Church to be built in NYC.  It was located at the corner of Prince and Mott Streets. The cornerstone was laid in 1809 and completed in 1815. In 1866 it burned down but was rebuilt in 1868.  Note that this view, by Ralph Stevenson, gives a different angle view than the Andrew Stevenson version titled Catholic Church.
