Pattern Name: Capitol, Washington

Pattern Category: Places

Series: Beauties of America

Object Type: Dinner and Dessert Wares

This pattern in the Beauties of America series is found in a number of forms.  These include a well and tree platter and regular platter, each measuring 20.5 inches; a drainer, bowl, plaque, bidet, cup and compote.   The drainer can also be seen in this exhibit. This serving piece, wide and flat with high straight sides, is often referred to as a potato bowl among American collectors, though it obviously could have been used for a number of purposes.
