The scene on this large platter has been given a number of names, other than the printed one, by authors, including View of New York from Weehawk, or New York from Weehawken.  Weehawken is a township in Hudson County, State of New Jersey, though really part of the New York metropolitan area.  So the view is across the bay from New Jersey to New York.
