Description: Here is a small plate. showing the second Roman Catholic Church (St. Patricks) to be built in NYC which is located at the corner of Prince and Mott Streets. The cornerstone was laid in 1809 and completed in 1815. In 1866 it burned down but was rebuilt in 1868. Many authors add the words New York to the name, but the mark that accompanies this scene on many pieces says simply Catholic Church. See the same structure by a different maker by searching Catholic Cathedral. |
