A platter is the only known form on which this pattern appears.  The coat of arms for New Jersey was adopted in 1776.  This was the coat of arms used on flags during the Civil War and on official state papers.  The right supporter is Ceres in dark flowing robes, a large cornucopia, from which fruit is falling, on her left arm.  The left supporter is Liberty, and the crest is a horse's head.
