Description: This plate, showing the Capitol Building in Washington, DC, is labeled RS on the reverse and while unreadable here, is also impressed Stevenson & ....O for either Co or Sons, but it is obliterated partially. While it is Stevenson's Vine border, the border has a white gadrooned edge. This plate has been found with the mark shown for Ralph Stevenson & Co, and also with the additional printed title mark for Ralph Stevenson and Williams. It has also been found with an RSW title mark, except the title reads Capytol Washington. It is further evidence of the confusion regarding the Stevenson firms. |
